Chris Wagner
A Marine Infantry Officer since December 2002, Chris earned his CrossFit Level I Certification in July 07. He enjoys the challenge and camaraderie that training at CrossFit Quantico provides, and hopes that he contributes to the betterment of the whole. He was born in Queens, NY, learned to play ice hockey in Massachusetts, and lived in New Jersey for 10 years before going off to college. Chris graduated from Towson University with a degree in history in 2000, and is married to his beautiful wife, Kate.

Mike Vorgang
A Marine Infantry Officer for 7 years, Mike earned his CrossFit Level I Certification in July 07. Mike is a native of Fairfax, VA, and a graduate of James Madison University in 2001. He has a wife, two dogs, and a daughter.

Jose Vengoechea
A Marine Infantry Officer since May 2000, Jose earned his CrossFit Level I Certification in July 07. He remains passionate about the CrossFit methodology and enjoys designing diverse workouts to challenge a wide variety of skill levels. Jose is from Miami, FL. where he played high school basketball. He is also a University of Maryland Alum.

Ethan Smith
A Marine Infantry Officer for the past 13 years, he started Crossfit after 10 years of running. Ethan received his Level I cert in May 08.

Geraldine Carey
A Marine Public Affairs Officer who has been in the Marine Corps for 5 ½ years. Gin has been Crossfitting since her deployment to Afghanistan in 2006 and was certified a Level I instructor in August 2008. She is a graduate of Penn State and is married to her husband Tom, they also have two dogs.

David Wallis
A Marine Infantry Officer with tours in both the 1st and the 2nd Marine Division. He earned his CrossFit Level I Certification in June 08. Currently a project officer with the Marine Expeditionary Rifle Squad at MarCorps SysCom. Dave received his undergraduate degree from the United States Naval Academy and has Masters Degrees from the Naval Postgraduate School and San Diego State University. Dave and his wife Hope were married in Oct 2000. Dave has a young son Ethan who is an active participant in the family’s CrossFit workouts.

Paul Sowa
I am a Communication Electronics Maintenance Chief in the Marine Corps and currently serving as a Project officer at Systems Command. I received my level 1 certification in Nov 2008. I am a black belt in the Marine Corps Martial Arts Program, former All Marine rugby player, and I currently train in Judo and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. I am a proud husband and father of two young Crossfitters.

Erin Benjamin
I am a pilot currently serving at Aviation Training Branch. I've been a Marine Officer for almost 12 years. Out of TBS I became a Communications Officer and then a Cobra pilot. I received my CrossFit Level 1 certification in July of 2008 after returning from my last deployment to the Persian Gulf. I enjoy the challenges, motivation, variety, and intensity found in the CrossFit community and hope I can help you to enjoy that, too and improve your physical fitness. I was born in Hawaii into a Marine family and I have traveled all over, but consider California home. I was a collegiate rower and part of the triathlon team at Camp Pendleton.

Chris Scheidler
Maj Chris Scheidler is a Marine Communications Officer. He started training at CrossFit Quantico after several years of participation in endurance sports. He has completed one Ironman distance Triathlon (Ironman Coeur D'Alene) and six half-Ironman triathlons. He has a degree in physics from the US Naval Academy.

Vince Kucala
I retired from the Marine Corps after 23 years of service as a Marine Corps Intel Officer and began working for the Marine Corps as a civilian. I currently serve as the Deputy for Operations at the Marine Corps Intelligence Activity, Quantico, VA. I have been CrossFitting since the summer of 2008 and began actively CrossFitting with the CrossFit Quantico Affiliate in January 2009. I earned my CrossFit Level I Certification in Aug 09 and my Concept 2 Rowing certification in Jun 09. My wife and I reside in Stafford, where she teaches 1st & 2nd grade. I have three children; two sons currently serving in the Military – one is a Naval Officer attending Flight School the other is a Second Lieutenant in the Marine Corps attending TBS; my daughter is a junior attending James Madison University. I have two Labrador Retrievers.

Rich Martin
Rich is a Marine intelligence officer. He began CrossFit in January 09 when he joined CrossFit Quantico. He believes in and continually pursues the concept of Virtuosity - performing basic movements exceptionally well. He also believes that there is always time to instill in every athlete the basics of CrossFit's fundamental movements. He earned his Level I Instructor certification in August 09 and also holds CrossFit certifications in Nutrition, Kettlebells and the C2 Rower.
